A Listening Ear

Yoshalyn Rowland-Neal, a cosmetologist from Greensboro, Ga., learned the intricate art of hair-styling from her mother and grandmother when she was a teenager. Sometimes it can take hours for black women to get their hair done. Rowland-Neal says the long nights are worth it because she gets to be a listening ear for her clients and help make them feel beautiful.
